Transgender ID Change in Idaho
Idaho State ID Change
To change the gender marker, the DMV requires a letter from your therapist or doctor to verify that you are living full-time in the correct gender and undergoing treatment.
In order to change your name, you must present a certified copy of a court-ordered name change. The current fee for a duplicate driver’s license is $11.50. For an ID card, it is:
Under age 18 | $6.50 |
Age 18 to 21 | $6.50 |
4-year renewal (age 21 and over) | $7.50 |
8-year renewal (age 21 and over) | $15.00 |
Idaho Birth Certificate Change
Idaho does NOT change the sex on the birth certificate. A bill to permit the changes was rejected by the Idaho legislature. Idaho will, however, change the name on the birth certificate.
