Transgender ID Change in Kansas
Kansas State ID Change
Kansas is ambiguous to the documentation requirements to change the gender marker. The holder of a driver’s license, identification card or permit must notify the DMV of a change of name and apply for an amended license, identification card or permit within 10 days of the name change. You may bring a certified court decree issuing the change of name to a license branch.
Kansas Birth Certificate Change
An affidavit from applicant documenting dressing and living as new gender; documentation of hormone treatment and surgery (“physiological and hormonal change”).
Note: taking hormones without surgery does not qualify. Breast surgery (mastectomy) does not qualify; genital surgery is required.
The cost is $15 for amending the certificate and another $15 for each certified copy.
